Cum a inceput totul?
In Maldive chiar te simti ca in paradis!!
The first holiday this year, as well as the last one for the past year.
How did it all start? Well, mostly out of nowhere.. Without having a plan, we decided to go abroad for New Year, so we got tickets for Maldive. A tiny and cute island, “thrown” in the middle of the ocean, exotism and (more or less) luxury. Should you want a “barefoot” vacation, with no tv, no cars, no noise, just isolation on a quiet beach, then you can choose any of these islands around here.We thought we should take the plane the very next day, but there was simply not enough time, not even time to properly pack our luggage. Especially since I’m that kind of person who always likes to buy a little “something” for the trip, something I most definetly need and without which the holiday wouldn’t be perfect. That is so me! :))
So, we took off the third day and I must confess I almost burst with enthusiasm for the last two days before our departure. I was so euphoric about it, I couldn’t wait to get to the beach and sun… a lot of sun! It was a long trip to our destination, the flight there (Otopeni – Dubai – Male – Maamigili – Sun Island) included three airplanes and we also had to go by a speed boat. It was pretty exhausting spendind all those hours travelling, but it was all worth it. When we finally reached Maldive Islands, all the exhaustion, hunger and distress disappered like they were never there in the first place.
We were literally breathless the first moment when we saw the island, the crystall clear ocean embracing the white sand of the beach, the absolutely breath-taking surroundings… oh, God, it was more than I could have imagined! I already knew where I would go to the beach for my first time here: at the end of the island, there was a small patch of sand and no tourists around. It was perfect!
When we got there, we were greeted by the Sun Island employees, who gave us coconut juice and perfumed wet towels. Meanwhile, we were accompanied to our own bungalow, a pretty large room, with the beach and the ocean right at our door. We were finally there and it was so unbelievable great outside, I couldn’t make up my mind what to do first, what with all those countless possibilities… I put my purse on the bed, I quickly grabbed my bathing suit and I went straight for the ocean, since it was only a few feet away from our room and I couldn’t resist it. We went swimming for only a few dozen minutes and, although we wouldn’t have left at all, we had our hunger to obey.. Besides, we still had so many days left to spend on that island. Our first trip to the restaurant was actually a long and relaxing walk for me, but we decided that next time we’d take our bikes.
We really enjoyed the idea of having our own table and waiter all to ourselves for the whole holiday, so we didn’t have to worry anymore about getting a table. It was all very new to us. The food was really good, flavoured and spicy, just the way we like it.For the following days we explored every inch of the island. We had a few days spent in a very romantic setting, where one can easily share his love or, if that should be the case, even fall in love all over again…the nature itself, the peace surrounding us were the perfect setting for love, for falling in love and feeling alive.
If someone still doubts that Heaven is a place on Earth, they couldn’t be more mistaken! Maldive is Paradise!
I’ll let the pictures we took speak by themselves, but they hardly do justice to reality! Maldive is beyond imagination!
